Seeking input to improve the PICCOLO tool for home visiting programs

Published May 12, 2025

Best Starts in partnership with Start Early is hosting small group conversations to understand community members experience with the Parenting Interactions with Children: Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO) tool.

The PICCOLO tool is a requirement of many home-visiting programs in Washington state. Our goal is to understand the strengths of the tool, possible gaps from training to implementation, and how programs have made adaptations to support families. Community considerations gathered in these small group conversations will help shape recommendations for future PICCOLO work and supports.

Sign-up to participate!

To join a small group virtual conversation, participants are required to:

  • Have experience using the PICCOLO tool with four or more families
  • Be available for a one-hour conversation with a Start Early facilitator

Please register for a small group conversation. Each group will be limited to four participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants will receive $80 compensation for their time and contribution.
