The Children and Youth Advisory Board is recruiting new members!

Are you passionate about making a lasting, positive impact on children, youth, and families across King County? The King County Children and Youth Advisory Board (CYAB) is officially seeking new members to serve a three-year term beginning early 2027.

As an advisory and oversight body, the CYAB plays a vital role in guiding major regional investments and strategies, including the Best Starts for Kids Initiative, the King County Youth Action Plan, and the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account

Your Voice Matters 

The CYAB is deeply committed to equity and intentional about building a board that truly reflects the vibrant diversity of our region. To ensure balanced community representation, we strongly encourage applications from: 

  • Residents of King County Council Districts 1, 3, 4, and 6 
  • Youth (24 years of age or younger) and seniors 
  • Native American/Alaska Native and Asian Pacific Islander community members 
  • LGBTQ+ individuals 
  • Residents living in rural areas of King County 

Time Commitment & Details 

  • Time: Approximately 6 hours per month (includes prep time, monthly meetings, and subcommittee work) 
  • Meetings: Second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m.
