At Best Starts, we know that relationship-based support and early positive interactions between caregivers and their children can help establish a strong foundation and have a great impact on success later in life. Through our Home-Based Services (HBS) strategy, trained home visitors support pregnant people and caregivers of children birth to age five to have healthy births, increased parenting knowledge, strengthened parent-child attachment, and positive child development. Learn more about our Home-Based Services strategy by reading our one-pager. Through the Home-Based Services request for proposals (RFP), organizations shared how they provide relationship-based support through HBS programs, including:
- Community-Designed Model (CDM) Programs which use approaches that are designed for, and/or implemented in, a specific King County community. They are valued by that community, culturally reflective, and/or serve groups for which nationally-implemented models have not been developed.
- Nationally-Implemented Models (NIM) Programs which use a standardized, well-defined model that has been proven effective through rigorous research design when implemented with fidelity or use a documented model that has been shown to produce positive outcomes in at least one comparison study.
We’re excited to announce the 30 awardees for our Home-Based Services request for proposals!
