Centering Black Excellence Symposium

When: December 9, 2025

Time: 9:30 am – 4 pm

Location: Highline College, Building 8 (Student Union) in the Mt. Constance room (South 240th Street, Des Moines, WA 98198).

Description

Black Women have historically and continue to play a pivotal, often overlooked role in U.S. social, cultural and political dynamics. This in-person symposium will center the professional and lived experiences of accomplished Black Women who will share with us their stories and insights about working in the field of early childhood. Through discussion, open dialogue, and collective exploration, we hope to both celebrate progress made and confront the inequalities that persist so that all children, particularly those from marginalized communities, can thrive in the world they truly deserve.
