IECMH Certificate Program: apply by July 25!

Best Starts’ Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) strategy invites all prenatal-to-five early childhood providers in King County to join our free 14-month IECMH Certificate Program on Centering Relationships and Social Justice in Early Childhood.

The deadline to apply is July 25, 2025.


Certificate Program Overview

Who should apply: Prenatal-to-five early childhood providers in King County.

What is it: The IECMH Certificate Program is a 14-month evidence-based curriculum that covers foundational principles of early childhood within a racial justice frame centering the voices and experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. It is an innovative, intentionally curated program breaking barriers of access for peer learning. Diverse and equity-centered IECMH topics are facilitated by a group of passionate IECMH leaders.

When is it: August 2025 – October 2026 (meetings are 1 day per month via Zoom with an in-person kick off and in-person closing celebration). See the full schedule here.

Why apply: Racial and economic justice guides this specialized curriculum for early childhood providers to deepen their awareness, strengthen their connection, and sharpen their mindset. The program is free, no college degree is required, and interpretation services are available.
