About this opportunity

Young people thrive when they can play in hazard-free areas, get to eat healthy and affordable food, and learn in safe environments.

Best Starts is seeking proposals from community-based organizations, agencies, and schools/school districts that want to ensure that children, youth, and young adults live, learn, work, play, and experience healthy and safe environments. Babies, kids, and young people grow into happy and healthy adults when they can actively engage in environments that promote wellness, healing and are hazard free.

Best Starts seeks proposals that focus on impacting the community in which children, young people and their families live, learn, work, and play by developing policies, creating, or improving systems, and changing environments.

  • Healthy food and food access
