The RFP for Vroom Community Connectors is now open. Applications are due July 3. This Vroom Community Connectors RFP is a pilot project that will inform Best Starts for Kids in moving forward with additional opportunities. Best Starts will contract with Somali and Latino/Latina/LatinX community-based organizations. As we build community engagement for our Help Me Grow framework, we will use Vroom to engage with families and learn together. Vroom is a nationwide initiative that empowers parents and caregivers to play a proactive role in their children’s early brain development. As part of Best Starts, King County is using the Help Me Grow national framework to inform the development of a coordinated system to get families the information they need and to coordinate all available services within King County.
The request for proposals to fund Parent/Caregiver Education and Support services is now open. This RFP for Parent/Caregiver Education and Support, is one of five Community-Based Parenting and Peer Supports RFPs that Best Starts is releasing to partner with community-based organizations to promote positive and healthy outcomes for young children and to support parents and family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) caregivers. Now Accepting Applications for Community-Designed Programs & Practices for Home-Based Services-Due May 21
Best Starts is now accepting applications for community-designed programs and practices for prenatal to five home-based services. Home-Based Services are a type of relationship-based support provided to expecting parents, and parents of children birth to age 5, in the places where they live. This RFP prioritizes community-based expertise—such as experience, knowledge, and local client data—and seeks to invest in prenatal-to-5 home-based services that are specifically designed for a focus community. The RFP to conduct evaluation for selected Best Starts for Kids programs and strategies is now available. The selected evaluators will identify a study design to answer evaluation questions of respective program and strategy within allocated funding.
