Announcing 9 Child Care Health Consultation Service Delivery Awardees 

Child care providers, including Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers, are essential to the health, safety and development of babies and children. Best Starts’ Child Care Health Consultation (CCHC) strategy partners with community-based organizations to offer CCHC services to support providers and caregivers with tools, resources, and tailored cultural supports for the children in their care.

A look at the work ahead 

Our new CCHC partners will build up consultation teams to best serve their respective focus communities—including Somali and East African, Black/African American, Afro-Indigenous, Latinx, and other immigrant, low-income, and Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities—with culturally and linguistically responsive services. Returning partners will continue their tailored services for Chinese and Vietnamese, Somali, and rural East King County child care communities. Consultation teams may include community health professionals, mental health specialists, nurses, nutritionists and others to provide training, individual consultation and additional supports to child care providers to strengthen and promote the health, safety, and development of children in child care. Best Starts is excited to expand tailored CCHC services to more child care providers and communities across King County with our 9 awardees.
