Best Starts for Kids is hitting the road again! This fall, Best Starts and partners will be hosting a series of community engagement events in every corner of King County to hear from community partners and municipal partners.
At Best Starts, we know that the health and well-being of King County’s babies, kids, young people, and families depends on strong collaboration between community, organizations, and governments. We have also heard from you, our community partners, that you want us to create opportunities to connect and learn from one another.
We hope to facilitate that connection among Best Starts partners (whether funded or not) and municipalities through our 2025 Best Starts Roadshow!
What to expect at a Best Starts Roadshow event:
At a Roadshow event near you, you will hear from Best Starts leaders, get opportunities to network with others in your field, and have chances to offer feedback. This includes:
- State of Best Starts for Kids: Hear from Best Starts Co-Leads about the current state of Best Starts. What have we accomplished since we first were approved in 2015, and where do we plan to go beyond 2025.
- Four Corners Conversations: Four focused sessions on specific topics where municipal and community partners can develop shared strategies:
- King County Youth Action Plan: Learn about the newest draft of the Youth Action Plan.
- Community Power Building: Things have changed. How can we work together to support the kids and families in our communities.
- King County Youth Bill of Rights: How to use the aspirational and actionable set of young people’s declarations to rally young people in your community.
- Best Starts for Kids Plus/Delta: What is going well? What isn’t going well? How can we improve?
- Speed Networking (by invitation only): At each of our regional events, up to 10 community partners will be selected to participate in a unique speed networking activity.
- Lunch and other activities!
