About this opportunity: 

Our Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline strategy seeks to intentionally and effectively partner with communities to create school to life success pathways for young people 12 to 24 years old and their families, who are disproportionately impacted by systemic racism and most likely to be pushed into the criminal legal system or are already involved in the criminal legal system.   

This RFP is seeking to fund programs that promote: 

  1. Sustainable economic strengthening through workforce and career development and/or 
  2. Positive identity development through experiences, opportunities, education/guidance, relationships, apprenticeship-type programs, and/or reconnection to cultural heritage  

Eligibility: 

This RFP is open to nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, tribes and tribal organizations, schools and school districts, and public or governmental agencies. Women of color led organizations and young people-led organizations serving in South King County region are encouraged to submit proposals. 

Eligible applicants must provide direct services and programs to help create pathways of success for young people 12 to 24 years old currently, previously, or likely to be involved in the criminal legal system. This includes Black and Indigenous young people, especially with low to middle income status.  

Eligible applicants must have a federal tax identification number and serve communities in King County.

Funding available: 

We have budgeted approximately $9 million from July 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027 for this project. Applicants may request up to $940,000 for 30 months.
