New Best Starts funding opportunity! Capacity Building Small Grant 2024 Request for Applications. Due August 16 at 2:00 pm.

We are excited to share that the Best Starts for Kids Capacity Building Small Grant 2024 Request for Applications (RFA) is now open! This funding opportunity closes on Friday, August 16 at 2PM, please submit your application by then.

About this opportunity:

To support the strength and sustainability of community-based organizations (CBOs), Best Starts Capacity Building program offers resources our partners identify they need to build organizational capacity. This RFA seeks to support the infrastructure needed to enhance CBOs’ capacity to provide services and programming. This includes systems, resources, and processes that sustain the key functions of an organization.   

Examples of resources that could be supported by this funding opportunity include, but are not limited to: 

  • Information Technology equipment   
  • Program equipment 
  • Program management or data management systems or system upgrades  
  • Office equipment 
  • New or increased subscriptions for online capacity building resources  
  • Professional development for staff 
  • Consultation, training, and professional services except those currently offered through the Best Starts Capacity Building program.  

Eligibility:

This RFA is open to organizations with active King County contracts funded by Best Starts. All currently funded Best Starts providers are eligible and encouraged to apply. Some priority may be given to Best Starts providers that have been operating for less than five years and/or are expanding services to a new geographic area, or that did not receive a 2023 Best Starts capacity building small grant.

Funding available:

We have budgeted up to $795,000 for this RFA. Applicants may request up to $9,999 in their proposed budget. Eligible applicants will be limited to one award per organization.

Final day to submit questions or initiate a request for technical assistance   August 14, 2024
