New Bottle Feeding and Healthy Snack videos for child care providers and families

Public Health – Seattle & King County’s Child Care Health Program (CCHP) and Best Starts Child Care Health Consultation strategy partnered to create Nutrition and Food Safety videos on Bottle Feeding Tips in Child Care Settings and Healthy Snacks for Preschoolers and Young Children. We encourage child care providers and early learning programs to reference and share these videos with families to support babies and children in their care and promote healthy child development.

兒童保育機構中的奶瓶餵養技巧(支援教育工作者和家長)(Audio: Cantonese; Captions: Traditional Chinese)

Bottle Feeding Tips in Child Care Settings (supporting educators and parents)  

This video tutorial by Vivi, a Registered Dietitian in the Child Care Health Program with Public Health – Seattle & King County, describes some tips on how to get infants to accept bottles, filled with human milk or infant formula, from child care providers and educators. She discusses what hunger cues to look for and offers suggestions for successful bottle feeding, such as positioning the baby or bottle differently; trying paced-bottle feeding; or experimenting with various bottles, nipples, or cups. 

Healthy Snacks for Preschoolers and Young Children 


This video tutorial by Vivi, a Registered Dietitian in the Child Care Health Program with Public Health – Seattle & King County, provides suggestions for getting preschoolers and young children in child care settings, whether at a center or a family home, to eat healthy snacks and food. It encourages children to eat slowly and mindfully and to try all different kinds of food. The video also describes the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines for how a nutritious snack should contain two of the five food groups and include a fruit or a vegetable.

Consejos para la alimentación con biberón en entornos de cuidado infantil (apoyo a educadores y padres) 

Este video tutorial de Vivi, dietista registrada en el Programa de Salud para el Cuidado Infantil del Departamento de Salud Pública de Seattle y el Condado de King, describe algunos consejos sobre cómo hacer que los bebés acepten biberones, llenos de leche humana o fórmula infantil, de proveedores de cuidado infantil y educadores. Analiza qué señales de hambre hay que buscar y ofrece sugerencias para una alimentación exitosa con biberón, como colocar al bebé o al biberón de manera diferente; probar la alimentación con biberón; o experimentar con varios biberones, tetinas o tazas. 

Meriendas Saludables Para Niños en Edad Preescolar y Niños Pequeños  

Este video hecho por Vivi, nutricionista del Programa de Salud para el Cuidado Infantil del Departamento de Salud Pública de Seattle y el Condado de King, ofrece sugerencias para lograr que los niños en edad preescolar y los niños pequeños en entornos de cuidado infantil; en un centro o hogar familiar; coman bocadillos y alimentos saludables. Este video anima a los niños a probar todo tipo de alimentos, y a comer de forma consciente. El video también describe las pautas del Programa de Alimentos para el Cuidado de Niños y Adultos (CACFP, por sus siglas en inglés) del USDA sobre cómo un refrigerio nutritivo debe contener dos de los cinco grupos alimenticios e incluir una fruta o una verdura.
