We are excited to introduce Amy Pak as our new Strategic Advisor for Help Me Grow. Most recently Amy served as the founding Executive Director of Families of Color Seattle (FOCS) and brings 20 years experience creating high impact change in King County as a coalition builder and racial equity leader. Amy joins the Best Starts for Kids leadership team and will oversee the implementation of the Best Starts Help Me Grow framework strategic plan.
The groundbreaking new methods we used in the Best Starts Health Survey lead the nation in ensuring our data reflects the strengths and needs of all King County kids and families. A nation-wide panel of epidemiologists selected the Best Starts for Kids Health Survey for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) National Award for Outstanding Epidemiology Practice in Addressing Racial and Ethnic Disparities.
Welcome to Sarah Wilhem as our new Best Starts for Kids Strategic Advisor for Trauma Informed Systems! The title is a mouthful but in a nutshell–Sarah’s role is to provide a trauma-informed perspective and lens that will influence all BSK strategies. With Sarah joining the BSK team, our core staff team is complete! The core BSK team is now 10 staff strong, but many more supporting positions will be popping up, so stay tuned for job postings.
