Funding Opportunity: Promoting First Relationships Training-Due Oct 21

Public Health–Seattle & King County is requesting applications from community-based agencies to participate in Promoting First Relationships Agency Training, either Train-the-learner training model OR Promoting First Relationships Train-the-trainer training model.

This funding opportunity is a partnership between Best Starts for Kids and the Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy.

Funding Available

Multiple agencies may be awarded. The maximum amount of reimbursement available for all subsequent agreements shall not exceed $89,799 for the period of January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020.

Purpose and Desired Outcomes

The goal of the project is for agency staff to receive intensive training in the evidence based curriculum, Promoting First Relationships, in order to become a Promoting First Relationships agency provider or a Promoting First Relationships agency trainer depending on past training experience.

Agency staff receiving the Promoting First Relationships Train-the-learner training model will acquire skills to provide service to children and caregivers that result in increased:

  • school readiness
  • children’s healthy social-emotional development
  • responsive, nurturing caregiver relationships

Agency staff receiving the Promoting First Relationships Train-the-trainer training model will be able to provide the above plus, as Promoting First Relationships agency trainers, they can train others in their agency as Promoting First Relationships Learners.

Eligibility

The focus is community-based agency staff that work with King County families with young children, primarily birth to five, who live in environments where stressors are particularly high.
