Interested in learning more about Best Starts for Kids prenatal-to-five funding opportunities this fall and winter? We have multiple opportunities for you to hear from Best Starts for Kids staff in person!


Best Starts for Kids Open House

Prenatal to Five Programs

When: Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 2-6PM

Where: Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy, Renton, WA 98057

What can you expect? You’ll walk into a room with lots of tables staffed by Best Starts for Kids team members available to answer your questions in person. Swing by whenever is convenient for you and stay for as long as you’d like. We will have a table for each prenatal-to-five strategy with someone ready to talk to you about our vision, investment strategies, and funding opportunities. We will have Best Starts representatives present at tables for:

  • Home-Based Services
  • Community-Based Parenting and Peer Supportsfunding communities
  • Promoting Healthy Development
  • Child Care Health Consultation
  • Workforce Development
  • Innovation Fund
  • Help Me Grow
  • Data and Evaluation
  • Technical Assistance

Kids are welcome! Light refreshments will be provided.

We will also offer presentations and workshops in a separate room for those who are interested in engaging with the following topics and more:

  • Toxics
  • Early Intervention and Developmental Screening
  • Interpreting Data

This event is tailored to community based organizations and others who are interested in applying for prenatal-to-five Best Starts funding.


Prenatal to Five “Drop In Hours”

calendarBest Starts for Kids wants to make information accessible. So we are excited bring information to you by sending Best Starts staff across the county to meet in person with people interested in hearing more about Best Starts prenatal-to-five strategies and more. We’re calling this outreach “Drop In Hours” and will hold sessions at libraries and other community locations across the county. If you attend one of the sessions below, you’ll find 1-2 Best Starts staff available to answer questions. We know it can be helpful to have face to face contact, so we hope to see you this fall at a session below:

      We recommend you reach out directly to our technical assistance providers. You’ll find their emails here: https://beststartsblog.com/2017/10/12/technical-assistance/. Some RFPs have specific instructions on how to access technical assistance. If you tell me which RFP you are planning to apply to, I can perhaps give more guidance on where to find that information.

      There are also two COO RFPs currently open. Do you know which one you are interested in or would you like help with both?
